Studies confirm that Gaza's unemployment rate is the highest worldwide
Palestine faces some of the highest unemployment rates globally, with Gaza enduring the most severe impacts. The blockade and ongoing bombardments have devastated Gaza’s economy, disrupting trade and commerce entirely.
In the West Bank, barriers such as walls and checkpoints severely restrict the movement of goods and people, stifling trade, curbing imports and exports, and slowing economic development. Youth and women are disproportionately affected, encountering even greater obstacles to employment.
Salam Gaza aims to tackle this crisis by creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for those who have lost their homes and jobs
It is estimated that approximately 86% of the population has lost their jobs and homes. Our comprehensive approach includes identifying market demands, establishing learning spaces, providing necessary tools and training, developing infrastructure, and creating employment opportunities. Our goal is not only to help individuals cope with immediate challenges but also to empower them to build a future and pursue their aspirations.
We assist and support women, men, and youth in transforming their ideas into sustainable small businesses
These ventures span various trades, such as cattle farming, handmade clothing stores, beauty salons, restaurants, carpentry, and more.
In addition, we prioritize supporting farming families by turning small plots of land or rooftops into productive spaces using greenhouses and water-efficient cultivation systems. This enables families to grow food for personal use and sell surplus produce for additional income.
By this way, our agricultural initiatives could be used in a school feeding program in Gaza, benefiting students while employing women in local cooperatives as part of a broader economic empowerment plan.
Our projects also seek to generate opportunities in key sectors such as construction, health and education.
The project generates jobs in critical areas such as construction, health, and education, utilizing local contractors and collaborators from within the affected communities to ensure quality and relevance.
We focus on vocational training for young people, equipping them with entrepreneurial tools in diverse fields such as construction, IT, agriculture, gastronomy, graphic design, tailoring, and more.
Don't let indifference be an option!
